Good morning world. Yesterday I woke up with a pretty bad headache. What I had in Essential Oils did not help much, neither did Ibprophen. So we opted to stay home from church. About 1 or so, the boys went out to the garden to start planting. About 2, I was feeling somewhat better, so I joined them. Now before I get judged for us working on Sunday, let me say 2 things.
First, the weather for the coming week has changed a couple of times in the past few days. It was suppose to be a wet and chilly week. Still suppose to be chilly, but no rain. Since there was no rain yesterday, We felt it was a good day to plant what we could. Usually the garden goes in quite late, late May or even June due to weather.
Second, usually our Sundays are a day of rest and worship. But I believe that God's grace covers us even when we work on Sundays. God's grace is amazing! "6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace." Romans 11:6. NIV If I believe I have to observe the Sabbath or I might lose my salvation, then God's grace is for nothing.
In the garden, we planted onion sets, potatoes, corn, lettuce, spinach, peas, radishes, okra, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, dill, mint, and a couple of other herbs. That is between 1/3 and 1/2 of the garden. We still have green beans, beets, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and I forgot what else to plant. I'm please with the work we did yesterday. Pictures to come!
Be blessed and be a blessing,
Just some of my thoughts and actions,
Elizabeth
Jesus fulfilled the law, the commandments. We are no longer held to that standard. We could not keep the law in the first place. Thank goodness we no longer have to try to be perfect. It isn't going to happen. Now it is all about living by the Holy Spirit. He leads us and guides us. With the fear of failing being gone, we can walk in the freedom of what Christ died for us to receive. I am so thankful for His sacrifice!
